Matatu owners now want more time before the 1st of July cashless matatu rollout

The matatu owners association is asking the government to give commuters and psv owners more time before implementing the proposed cashless mode of payment for commuter fares. The owners say most commuters have not subscribed to the system which is slated to take effect from July first.Speaking to the press this morning, the matatu owners say they have been left out of negotiation before the roll out, saying banks are the immediate beneficiaries of the system and not commuters or psv owners.
