Top 5 Free Email Services Across The World

1. Gmail

Who don’t know it! In my opinion, its the world’s largest Email service and mostly everybody knows about it and also have their account on this email service. It is very easy to use and run by Google that’s why called Gmail (Google Mail).

It was written in Java and JavaScript and launched in April 2004. As of June 2012, it is the most widely used web-based email provider with over 425 million active users worldwide and available in 57 languages.

2. Outlook.Com (Hotmail)

Microsoft is world’s most popular and successful software company. As we all know that Microsoft owned Hotmail, the world’s first email service, and changed its name to Outlook.Com. It is another widely used and popular email service having approx 420 million users (as of 2013) worldwide.

One of the genuine fact behind its success is that it provides Outlook.Com facility in 106 different languages across the world. The original site was released July 1996 and turned into Outlook.com in July 2012.

3. Yahoo! Mail

Yahoo! Mail is another well known, most popular and oldest email service across all over the world. It is also a free email service as of two above which is offered by American company Yahoo!

For your information, let me tell you that Yahoo! Mail is the world’s second email service launched after Hotmail. In point of fact, Yahoo! was launched in March 1994 and Yahoo! Mail in 1997. It has also became the world’s third largest emailing service with 281 million users (as of December 2012).

4. GMX Mail

GMX Mail is also a free mail service available in 4 languages : English, Spanish, French and Germany. For German users, it separated the domain name GMX.Net and for other three GMX.Com. On GMX, one user can register up to 10 individual GMX e-mail addresses.

It offers the attachment limit 20 MB for German users (GMX.Net) and 50 MB for GMX.Com users. It provides the free support of SMTP, POP3 and IMAP but GMX.Net doesn’t provide the facility of IMAP.

5. AOL Mail

AOL Mail is another free emailing service powered by America Online, commonly known as AOL. It was launched in 1993 and available in 54 different languages worldwide.

It also provides several ultimate features to its users include unlimited Email storage capacity, 25 MB Email attachment limit, spell checking, supports SMTP, POP3 and IMAP.

The above listed 5 free email services are really most popular and being used across the world. Yes guys, all of them are widely used in which Gmail and Yahoo!
